Utah Hogle Zoo!!!

Ty loved his first trip to the Zoo.  He loved watching all the animals especially the monkeys.  There were these small orange monkeys (I don't know for sure if they were monkeys but they looked like it) and Ty thought they were so funny as they ran around their cage.  He was laughing so hard.  It was fun to see him get excited at all the animals.

Ty picked out a couple souvenir's, a hat and a baby elephant

Something crazy that happened while we were at the zoo is we were looking at elephants and the baby elephant had just gotten wet and then ran over and laid in the dirt and started rolling around.  Well all of a sudden she started making this crazy loud noise and slashing back and forth.  The mommy elephant went over to her and eventually helped the baby elephant up with her trunk.  The zoo workers got on the intercom and said that the baby elephant was stuck in a hole in the sand and that she was in distress and that is why she was acting like she was.  It was interesting hearing the mom communicate to the baby.  I think she was telling her to calm down so she could help her up :)

Weekend part 3

On Easter Sunday, April 8th, we blessed Ty in Church.  Cameron gave an amazing blessing to Ty.  It was really cute, towards the end of the blessing Ty started talking.  It was the perfect way to end such a perfect weekend.  After church our family came back to our house for a little brunch!!!  It was a perfect family filled weekend :)

Uncle Graydon was here but he had to run home for a few minutes so he missed the pictures :(

Weekend part 2

Friday afternoon we all went to the Mount Timpanogos Temple to be sealed together as an Eternal Family.  It was April 6th.  There couldn't be a better day to be in the temple.  I cannot describe the feeling in the sealing room.  It was amazing!  I have never felt the spirit so strong.  Our Sealer talked to us out in the hall before we went in the the sealing room and then we all walked in the sealing room together.  It was amazing to see our family and friends in there to share this special experience with us.  The sealer got emotional during the sealing which was very sweet.  Adoption is close to his heart because his grandchild is adopted.  He also said something that I will never forget. ( I am only writing this so I can remember what he said)  He said that Heavenly Father doesn't care how our children come to us, whether they are biological or adopted, they are our children.  I have always felt that way and have always known that Ty is our son and was always suppose to be our son, but to hear the sealer say it in the sealing strengthened my testimony even more.  I know that Heavenly Father chose Cameron and I to be a couple to adopt because he knew that we were strong enough to handle it and I am so thankful for that.  I cannot imagine my life without Ty.  He is everything to me.  I love him so much and am so grateful he is my son and that I get to be his mommy forever!!!!  I know Cameron feels the same way about Ty and he loves being his daddy.  Cameron is the best daddy to Ty!!!!   Anyway, after the sealer talked to us for a little bit my mom went out in the hall to get Ty from the temple worker.  As my mom brought Ty into the room he got the biggest smile on his face.  I know he knew exactly what was happening and was so excited for it.  The temple worker also told us that as she was walking down the hall to the sealing room, Ty got excited and started kicking his legs and was smiling.  As we were being sealed Ty stared at the sealer as if he was listening to every word he said.  It was so cute.  He was so good and didn't make a peep.  My brother in law said at one point when the sealer said Cameron's name, Ty looked at Cameron like he knew Cameron was his daddy.  It was the cutest thing ever!!!  I will never forget the feeling I had in the temple that day!!!

Thanks Chelsea for taking pictures for us!!!

A Weekend We Will Never Forget!!!

This pass weekend was amazing and one we will never forget.  It all started on Friday morning when we went to court to finalize Ty's adoption.  It was awesome sitting there in the court room.  We had Judge Taylor and he was super nice.  I had never been in a court room so it was interesting to see how it all worked.  Finalizing an adoption in Court doesn't take very long.  It probably only lasted 20 minutes.  First you all stand when the judge comes in and then our Attorney Paul MaCarthur called our caseworker Kristel to the stand.  He then asked you questions about the adoption and about Cameron and I and then they handed the papers to the Judge to review and he signed them.  We also had to sign some papers in front of the Judge.  Our Attorney then turned to me and asked me some questions.   They are mostly yes and no questions.  The one question that makes everyone cry is the Attorney asks you to tell the court your feelings about this adoption.  Of course I cried.  Then he turned to Cameron and asked him some questions and then it was over and our adoption was final!  After the Judge came down to take some pictures with us.  After we left the Courthouse we all went to Village Inn to grab some breakfast.
