Ty is 3 months old already. I can't believe how fast is has gone. He is so smiley and is starting to laugh a lot. He loves to talk and had the cutest little voice. He is holding on to his rattles and he is so good at making eye contact. It has been fun to watch him grow and learn. He is so much fun!

This year we celebrated Christmas three days in a row. Cameron had to work the first half of Christmas Day and I worked the second half, so we celebrated with Cameron's mom and Leonard Christmas Eve day and then we went to my parents Christmas Eve afternoon. Then Christmas morning Cameron went to work so Ty and I went to my parents church with them and then I went off to work at noon. When I got off we had our own little family Christmas that night. Then the day after Christmas we went up to Cameron's dads and celebrated with that side of the family. We had a blast celebrating with everyone!!

At his 2 month appointment he weighed 13 pounds 7.5 ounces and was 22.5 inches long. He is starting to smile a lot now and is getting so close to laughing!!!!

This year for Thanksgiving we went up to my Aunt Janean's cabin. It was so much fun and beautiful!!! Ty was the perfect little boy as usual. Unfortunately Cameron was on-call for work so he wasn't able to go up to the cabin with us. It was very relaxing and of course the food was delicious!!! Thanks to Shellie and Mike for letting Ty and I ride up with them. You needed four wheel drive to get up there and we don't have a car with that so we rode with Mike and Shellie. I have to say Mike was an amazing driver. Let me explain why I say that. So, as we are approaching the cabin we are about to turn to go up the driveway and a SUV came speeding down the mountain and around the corner. It was snowy and icy and he was driving way too fast for the conditions. Anyway as soon as he saw us he slammed on his brakes but because he was coming around the corner way too fast he lost control and all we could see was this SUV coming to hit us head on. All I could think about was that we had Ty in the car and we are going to get in a head on collision. Well Mike being the amazing driver he is, quickly threw his truck in reverse and started to reverse. The SUV literally missed us by inches and I am not exaggerating. I don't know how he missed us. The SUV slid off the road into a snow bank almost hitting a huge tree. My dad had to go down and pull the SUV out. I was shaking for a little while after. I am so thankful Mike was driving and stayed calm and miraculously avoided getting hit. It was the scariest thing. Other than that the day was perfect!!!!

So, today was our little guys due date but it has come and gone and he is not here yet. Our birth mom went to the doctor today and she is dilated to a 2. The doctor will not set a date to be induced until her next appointment next week. I hope he decides to come before her next appointment:) This waiting period is worse then doing infertility treatments and waiting those two weeks to find out if you are pregnant or not. Hopefully he will decide he wants to come soon!!!! We will keep everyone posted!!!!

Cuddle Bugs!!!

These two are my little cuddle bugs. I love holding them because they just love to cuddle. Last night I babysat for my sisters Jana and Katie. I had all seven of my nieces and nephews by myself. Are you impressed? I impressed myself. They actually were all really good. We started at my house and we played outside on the playground and then we walked over and got a snow cone. That was an adventure. Right when we got over there the wind starting blow like crazy. The older kids were nervous and Tatum wouldn't let me put her down and Bridger was crying in the stroller. It was crazy but we made it back to the house and everyone enjoyed their snow cones. Then the kids just played the xbox and computer. Anneka and Peyton were my little helpers with all the younger kids. I must say I have the best and cutest nieces and nephews ever:)

I had layed Bridger down after I got him to sleep because Tatum wanted me to hold her. After I layed Bridger down Tatum decided she wanted to lay next to him and sleep too. I love that she is closing her eyes pretending to be asleep like Bridger. She layed there for a few minutes and then decided she was done sleeping and got up to play more.

No More Night Shifts!!!!

A couple nights ago was my last night shift working as a night nurse. I am so excited to not be working nights anymore!!! I am sad to leave my night shift friends though. I have become so close to them and have loved working with them. It is a good thing that I will still be able to see them as we give report to each other and at staff meeting. We are going to have to be better about getting together outside of work. Anyway, I am excited for this new journey on days and getting back to a more normal life. Since I am moving to days it is a little different position. My home base is on pediatrics where I will be working most of the time (hopefully) but I also will be able to work mom/baby and NICU. I am so excited to learn the different areas. To be honest though mom/baby scares me the most. I don't know why because the mom and baby for the most part are healthy. I guess it is just because I am use to working with sick babies and kids. Anyway, I am excited to learn more in different areas of nursing and to be working during the day!!!

Friday night Ronda threw a party for all her friends to meet her family. Her parents were in town from Texas. It was fun to meet all of her family. We always have so much fun with Ronda!!!

Tatum loves Cameron so much. She wanted him the whole night. At one point in time he gave her to me so he could get a drink and she got right off my lap and put her face in her hands and started crying. Her little heart was broken that Cameron gave her to me. She went right over to Cameron and grabbed his hand and led him outside to play. It is so fun to see them together and how much she loves him.

Wow I am so white compared to my mom and Ronda. Sorry if I am blinding you with my whiteness :)

Best Family in the World!!!

I have the best family in the world!!!! I love them so much and couldn't ask for a better family. Most people know that the past couple years have been really hard for Cam and I as we have been dealing with infertility. There has been many days filled with tears, frustration, anger, sadness, just about every emotion you could possibly think. Cameron and my family have always been there for me. I can't even count how many times that I have called Cam, my mom and my sisters just bawling and they know exactly what to say and do to comfort me. I love that they cry with me and help me feel better. They have been there supporting us with every decision we have made when it comes to all the infertility treatments we have done and my surgery.
After many failed treatments and through much prayer we realized that there was a different plan for us when it came to starting our family. We both received the answer that the way we are suppose to start our family is through ADOPTION!!!! We both are so excited. I am not going to lie, it was hard for me to accept that I may never carrie my own child, and feel them kicking me and being able to nurse my baby, but I must say I have never felt more peace and comfort about the decision we have made to adopt. Both of our families have been so supportive and excited about our decision. They get more and more excited with us as we all learn more about adoption together and get closer to having our profile online (which should be online this week!!!).
I can't thank my family enough for all the love and support they give us. We can't wait for our baby to join our family!!!! I will try and post more often as we continue this journey to starting our family but you can always visit our adoption blog camandstacyadoption.blogspot.com

Cam's Birthday!!!

Tonight we celebrated Cameron's birthday. It was a lot of fun. We had it over at our clubhouse which worked out so nice because the kids could watch a movie or run around and play outside and then we were able to set table and chairs up so that we all had a place to sit. It is always fun to have all of our family together. We missed Kira but other than that everyone in our immediate families were there. How awesome is that!!!! Here are some pictures from the party. Glimpse of Motherhood

This weekend I got a glimpse of motherhood. We watched my sister Jana's kids all weekend. They came over on Friday and we took them back this afternoon. It was a lot of fun. She has four kids aging from 9 years old to 18 months. They all were really good. So let me explain why this experience gave me a glimpse of motherhood. So they came over Friday afernoon and we had a pizza party that night. Then it was bedtime. Tatum has been a stinker when it comes to sleeping and this night was no different. She wanted to be held to sleep so I ended up down on the couch holding her all night so she would sleep. Well morning came and Cameron went off to work and I was doing Anneka's hair and she asked to go to the bathroom but before she made it to the toilet she started throwing up. No warning or anything. I felt so bad for her. She is such an angel and felt so bad about making the bathroom a mess. She apologized all weekend about it. Anyway I got that all cleaned up and then a little bit later Tatum rolled down the stairs. She didn't get hurt, it just scared her. Then that night Corbin said his stomach hurt. Well I didn't know if it was true or he just didn't want to eat because Anneka wasn't eating and he kept playing and jumping around. Well I was wrong. At 2:00 am Corbin woke up throwing up. The three older kids were all sleeping on the air mattress together, so it woke everyone up. Anneka and Griffin were scared so Cameron took them downstairs while I helped Corbin get cleaned up. After getting everything cleaned up we went back to sleep. Luckily Tatum stayed asleep through it all even when we had to turn the lights on. When I got back in bed I just started laughing. It was so funny to me everything that had happened and that we were up at 2 in the morning cleaning up puke. By the time we took them home they were feeling better but not 100%. Hopefully they will be all the way better tomorrow and hopefully Tatum doesn't get sick.
Anyway, I know that was long but it was a fun and eventful weekend I wanted to share. I am so thankful my sisters live close with their kids so that we can see them all the time. It was fun to spend the weekend with them. I am also very grateful that I am able to go up and help my other sister Katie with her little one Bridger and see all her kids weekly. He is so cute and fun to snuggle. Being able to help my sisters with their kids makes me more excited to be a mom someday. It makes my desire to be a mom even stronger. Hopefully some day soon it will happen. Also, it makes me excited for Cameron to be a dad someday. He is so cute will all of our nieces and nephews and they love him so much!!!

New Addition!!

There is a new addition in the Barton family. My sister Katie had her baby boy about a week ago. He is so dang cute. I love holding and snuggling him. Cameron is so cute with him. It makes me excited for one day having our own and watching Cameron with our own kids. (no I am not pregnant if I just made it sound like I am) Anyway, I thought I had pictures on my camera but I don't so I will post pictures of him when I get them from my dad. Oh and they named him Bridger Barton Call!!! Congratulations Katie, Aaron, Peyton and Lincoln. We are so excited to have another nephew!!!

First sewing project

Some of you may remember awhile ago I posted that Cameron gave me a sewing machine for my birthday. I don't know how to sew but I wanted one so I could learn. I have not used it and Cameron keeps asking me when I am going to start sewing. Well today was the day. I pulled it out, read the manual and starting sewing. The end result was this blanket I made for my niece Anneka. I know it is probably the easiest thing to make but I was proud of myself. It is not at all perfect. As you can tell it is not completely straight but I think it is pretty good for my first sewing project. I can't wait to make more and try making other stuff. Fabric stores here I come!!

State Fair

On Friday Cameron and I went to the State fair with our friends Stacy and Casey. It was a lot of fun. We of course had to get our picture next to the police car and then as we were walking around we saw that you could get your picture with sea lions. Cameron thought it was so cool and really wanted to do it, so we did. It was pretty cool. As soon as you stand against the stage they put their head on your shoulder. Who knew you could do such cool things at the State fair.

Endometriosis

Last week I was diagnosed with having severe endometriosis which is why I can't get pregnant. It is nice to know what is causing the problem but I have heard so many horror stories about endometriosis it scares me. Anyway, it is looking like I am probably going to have to have surgery because the pain is getting worse and becoming more consistent and the endometriomas I have are literally crushing my ovaries. Finding a good surgeon is really important to me but I don't even know where to start, so I was wondering if anyone knows a good surgeon for endometriosis?
Also, I wanted to say thanks to everyone that commented on my blog. It is nice to know I have so many family members and friends that are there for me and support me. I love you all and want you all to know your comments helped me feel better! THANKS SO MUCH EVERYONE!!!

More Tears

Once again my heart is breaking. It literally feels like someone has ripped it out of my chest, crushed it, ripped it in pieces and ran over it with a car. I keep wondering how many more times I am going to have to feel this? I know some of you may be confused as to why I am feeling like this, well let me explain. For over a year and a half now (which may not seem like a long time to some people, but to me it feels like it has been forever) we have been struggling with infertility. It has been the hardest thing to have to go through. As of right now they classify us in the unexplained infertility category, which is good and bad because nothing is wrong but then there is no explanation for all this heartache. I keep wondering if my dreams of becoming a mother will ever come true and as the months go by my hope diminshes. I don't understand why we are not being blessed with a little one. I don't know what I have done in my life to make me not worthy of motherhood. Maybe I should just give up my dream. I often wonder if it is worth all the money we have spent, getting ultrasounds every two weeks, taking medications that make you go crazy and sick, giving myself shots and getting procedurs done month after month. With all of this not working I think someone is telling me that I am not worthy of this gift. I am sorry about all the complaining, I am just really frustrated right now. I used to try and be strong but I am pass that point I can't be strong anymore because I am not ok. It has taken a lot for me to admit that I am not ok. It takes everything in me to get out of bed everyday and face the world. I owe a lot to Cameron and my family that I can call everyday and they will cry with me and listen to me and try to get my mind of things, they are the ones that have stuck by my side through all of this. I don't know what I would do without them. I love them all so much so thank you!!!!!
I will try and be better about updating my blog but blogs are one of the hardest things for me to look at right now and so that is why my doesn't get updated much.
On a happier note wednesday was mine and my nephew Lincoln's birthday. It is always fun to share a birthday with my nephew. We had a family party on Sunday, which was a lot of fun. Cameron got me a sewing machine. I am so excited about it. I don't really know how to sew but I am excited to learn!!! I will post pictures soon.

Most of you know that I am a nurse on the pediatric unit down at UVRMC and so I see a lot of sick kids. Saturday night was one of the scariest nights I have had in my 4 years of nursing. As most of you know it is RSV season. This season of RSV is soooooooo bad. The kids that are hospitalized with RSV are sicker than I have ever seen them. Saturday night I was taking care of a 1 month old little boy who is really sick with RSV. Well he was doing ok until about 3am. Around that time his little body decided it couldn't fight to breath anymore and his breathing started to get worse, he got pale and was starting to crash on me. We ended up having to intubate him and he now is on a ventilator. The point of my story is not to freak everyone out about RSV but to warn all of you with little ones. It is a really bad RSV year and it is making little ones so so so sick and I don't want to have to see any of my family or friends in the hospital with their little ones, so please stay home as much as possible.

On a happier note I am finally finished working full-time nights. I am now officially part-time at this hospital so I only work two nights a week now. I still am doing my home health job full-time which is keeping me busy but at least it is during the day!!!!!

I know I have been a major slacker with updating our blog. I will try and do better. We just got back from being over in Europe. We went with Cameron's family to pick his step-brother up off of his mission. It was a lot of fun and a once in a life time experience to be over there. I know I have not posted for awhile so I figured I probably should. This week was a crazy one. It started off not so great but ended good. It all started last friday when our fish died. It was really sad. I know it sounds kind of crazy to be sad over a fish but I was.

Then saturday I went over to my parents house to spend the day with them because Cameron went with his dad fishing up at Strawberry. Well the day was really fun until I started to have this crazy pain and had to go to the ER. I ended up being there for seven hours. It was a long night. It was scary for awhile not knowing what was going on but luckily everything is ok for now. Thanks to my mom and Shellie for staying in the ER with me until Cameron got there. The next couple days were kind of crappy just because I couldn't move around very good and was really nauseous but then the week started to get better.

Wednesday I found out I got a job with a home health agency. I am still going to be working at the hospital full-time, this is just a little something extra. I have always wanted to try home health and the opprotunity kind of fell in my lap. I am really excited and hope I like it!!!

Then saturday came. Let me just say I love BYU football!!!! It was an awesome game and what a great way to start the season. GO COUGARS!!!!!!!!

Sunday was Tatum's blessing. It was a beautiful day. Graydon gave an amazing blessing. Tatum did so good. She slept through the whole thing, and was happy the rest of the day. She just started smiling not too long ago and it is the cutest thing ever. Cameron got her laughing so hard before the blessing, it was really cute. Here are a couple pictures of her.

Yesterday was my moms birthday. We celebrated on Friday by going up to Sundance for the day and having a picnic. It was a lot of fun. We ate, played games and rode the ski lift. Griffin had a huge kanker on his tongue so he didn't feel good but he was a trooper. Everyone one had a blast and it was a very relaxing 24th of July. I have a new niece!!!! Meet Tatum Elyse Johns. She was born July 6th at 11:30pm. She was 6 lbs 13 ounces and was 19 1/4 inches long (I think that is right). She is so beautiful and cuddely. Jana and baby Tatum are both doing great!!! Congratulations Jana and Graydon!!!! We love you and your family so much!!!!

Wedding, Carnival, Concerts and BBQ

Sorry it has been awhile since I last posted so this post is picture overload. The past couple of weeks have been packed. First my friend Chelsea got married. We did the whole wedding thing all day. It was a lot of fun. Congrats Chels and Zach!!!

Then we went to Pony Express Days out in Eagle Mountain. We spent the day at the carnival with all our whole family. It was so windy, rainy and cold at times but it was still a lot of fun.

Next we went to the Real soccer game because David Archuleta sang the national anthem and then he did a mini concert after. He was amazing as usual. The second concert we went to was the Kelly Clarkson concert at the UVU baseball field. It was rainy all day but for the concert it was pretty clear, it just sprinkled a little bit.

Finally today we had a family Father's day BBQ. We had it early so everyone could be there. It was fun as always!!!

Saturday was an exciting day! Cameron's dad Mike and his step-mom Melodee were sealed in the Draper temple. There is nothing like being in the temple with lots of family members. Lincoln and I shared a birthday on Tuesday. It is fun to have a nephew have the same birthday as me. The partying started on Monday when we had a family BBQ at Katie's house to celebrate our birthday. It was fun to have all of our family together. Then on Tuesday Cameron and I went to dinner at Ruby River when he got off of work. It was so yummy. They give you a really good birthday dessert, I highly recomment it. The partying ended on Wednesday when we had Cameron's family over for cake and ice cream. It was a fun birthday even though I am getting old:(

Easter Party

Saturday we had our family Easter party and my grandma's in Salem. It was so much fun. Cameron and I went down early and hid the easter eggs with a couple of my other cousins and then everyone else arrived and we had the easter egg hunt. It is a tradition that we hide a golden egg and if you find it you get a prize. This year we hid three golden eggs. Anneka, Griffin and Lincoln were the lucky three to find them. Here are some pictures of the kids hunting.

Lincoln got this huge chocolate egg for part of his prize. I think he could have eaten the whole thing at once if his parents would have let him.

David Archuleta

Friday was the David Archuleta concert at the E-center. It was a blast. He had so much energy and the whole arena was on their feet the whole time. I have been to a lot of concerts in my life and let me tell you the energy in that arena was out of control!!!! Here are a few pictures from the concert. We were on the 5th row on the floor which made it even better. Shellie has way better pictures of David on her blog, so check them out!!

Going Shooting!!!

Friday afternoon I did something I never thought I would do. I shot a gun for the first time!! This may not be a big deal to a lot of people but for me it was because I am terrified of guns. When Cameron decided to be a police officer it freaked me out because it is a scary and dangerous profession but also because that means we have to have guns in the house. So I decided I should become more familiar with guns and then maybe some of my fear would go away.

So, friday I got up and went to the gym and was planning on taking a nap before I went into work but when I got home Cameron wanted to take me shooting. I agreed to go and to be honest it was a lot of fun. Guns still scare me but I feel a little more comfortable with them now.

I have to apologize for the pictures they are not very good. I was still in my work out clothes so I look disgusting but oh well:)

Cameron told me I have really good form when shooting. He said it is a lot better than most people that are shooting a gun for the first time. I didn't know there was a good form to have when it comes to shooting, so I felt proud of myself:)

Cameron is so good at shooting (which is a good thing) he can hit the smallest target. I was impressed!!!

Weekend full of Basketball!!!

This weekend was filled with Basketball. It all started on Friday night. I went with my mom, Shellie, Grandma, Aunts, Uncle and cousins to the Salem Hills High School basketball game. My mom grew up in Salem and this is the first year they have had a high school so everyone was excited to go see the new high school and watch them play. It was a blast. I think me and Shellie got a little too into the game for not knowing anyone on the team:) I forgot how much fun high school games are. One thing that made me laugh was the student section would yell "old people stand up" to get everyone in the parents section to stand up. It was hilarious. It was a really close game but Salem came away with a win and advances to the quater finals of the state tournament.

Saturday I went with Shellie, my mom and aunt Phyllis to the Jazz game. It too was a lot of fun. At the beginning they did a little tribute to Larry H Miller. It was really nice. To be honest I got a little teary eyed. The game was exciting and the Jazz came away with a win!!!

*For those of you wondering, I don't always leave Cameron at home while I go do fun things. He has been working every weekend night for the last few months. I am so ready for that schedule to be over so we can spend more time together.

Valentines Weekend!!

Valentines Weekend was so fun this year. Both Cameron and I had to work Friday night so when we got off work we met at IHOP for breakfast! After breakfast I headed up to Midway with my family for my aunts wedding. Cameron just went to bed because he had to work that night. It was so fun to see my cousins that live out of the state. Since Cameron had to work Saturday night I brought my niece and nephews home to spend the night with me! We went to the store and got treats and then came home and watched lots of movies and played games. It was so fun to spend the night with them. They are all so dang cute. Here are some pictures from my weekend with the kids.
